About 765 Wedding

The name 765 Wedding stems from our first blog, 765 Nest In Progress, a place for Travis and me to document our first home and our efforts in living a local, footprint-conscious lifestyle. When it comes to tying the knot we plan on keeping those same ideals a prominent part of the celebration: limited driving, local foods and flowers, handmade and recycled products, and only exactly what we need. This doesn’t mean we are skimping, just that we are thinking of all those details and want our guests to experience what we value so much.

We selected St. Joseph Cathedral for the ceremony not only because it is a gorgeous, special place, but also because it is walking distance from our house and everything else downtown has to offer. The reception will follow only 2 blocks from the Cathedral, at the Baton Rouge Welcome Center.  That makes the ceremony only 6 blocks from our house, a block from the Capitol, and right along the Mississippi River.  Travis and I hope everyone will join us in a walk/dance/skip from the ceremony to the reception!

Because the wedding is focused so much on being local and personal, Travis and I are using this blog as a way to let our guests in on its development, and how all those detail are personal and come together. We can't wait to see everyone on May 13, 2011!
