Accommodations

Downtown has a historic Hilton located on the main drag, Third Street. In December a second hotel will open, Hotel Indigo, right across the street from the Hilton. We hope most of our guests will stay in these two hotels, as they are walking distance from the wedding sites and both will provide shuttle service to and from the Baton Rouge Airport – no need for a car! Surrounding those hotels is a great selection of restaurants, bars, museums, and old historic buildings to keep you busy throughout the weekend.

**If you happen to smell cigar smoke in your room, no need to call the front desk. As story has it, it’s just the ghost of Huey P. Long that has made its home in the Hilton**

Also an option is the Sheraton, a hotel located downtown but a bit further from the wedding site. They also have a casino attached to the hotel for those of you that want to play your hand at a game of roulette on a river boat.

For those flying into Louisiana:

The Baton Rouge Airport (BTR) is a short drive to downtown and most hotels offer a shuttle. It’s a rather small airport (SLO still has it beat though) so it’s fairly quick getting in and out.

New Orleans Airport (MSY) is about an hour from Baton Rouge and can sometimes offer cheaper deals. Guests could easily rent a car and spend a day or two after the wedding checking out New Orleans. If it is anyone’s first time give us a call – we have plenty of places to suggest!
