Travis asked me to marry him on April 15, 2010 at our housewarming party. Back when we lived in the apartment we had bought an orange tree in hopes of having somewhere to put it soon - and luckily we did when we bought 765. As I was making the invitations to the housewarming party Travis mentioned he wanted some event to commemorate the beginning of our home. The planting of the orange tree seemed a perfect fit. So when 7:00pm came around everyone gathered around to watch us "plant the tree", though by this time over half of everyone there had already been clued in to what was about to happen. I however, had not. We had a toast, threw some dirt in the hole and then I looked over and he was on his knee. Speechless, but I said yes! Everything after that was a blur, but lucky for us James Andermann videoed the whole thing (see below!)
Since that day the orange tree has been a special part of our yard (now with three oranges!) and has also become a theme for the wedding!
